Services of the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont
A. The Epilepsy Foundation provides information, materials, and support
services to families affected by epilepsy and their significant others.
Each of these services are critical because families need the information
and support to make the best decisions in both daily matters and planning
for the future.
B. The Epilepsy Foundation provides a number of services to children and
teachers at schools through our School Alert Program and our Kids on the
Block Puppet Program. We are helping to improve the understanding of
epilepsy and increase the chances of early diagnosis, proper
first aid for seizures, and reduce fear in the school environment.
C. The Epilepsy Foundation provides support services to employers who
have employees dealing with problems related to their seizure disorder.
D. The Epilepsy Foundation provides professional in-service training to
a variety of agencies and professionals so as to increase their knowledge
to best serve each individual with epilepsy.
E. Our Agency seeks to increase the general public's awareness of
epilepsy through the use of radio, television, newspapers and information
meetings open to the general public. This is the priority area with the
goal of increasing early detection and diagnosis of seizure disorders.
F. The Epilepsy Foundation strives to enhance the quality of life for
all individuals who have epilepsy by taking an active role in
representing the concerns created by epilepsy in such areas as health
care, new advances in treatment,
driver's license, employment and
education.
